The Strategic Sourcing Manager will lead the commodity teams to develop and maintain the sourcing strategy for Textron Off Road (TOR) and Arctic Cat Snow businesses.  This position is responsible for all pricing, delivery and quality metrics for the entire purchased material supply chain.  This is a leadership role that requires strategic thinking, planning, mentoring, managerial courage, negotiating, business acumen, and a passion for results.

  • Provide overall supply chain management for TOR and Arctic Cat Snow businesses.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for supply chain: determine optimum number of suppliers, identify those that require long-term agreements (LTAs), evaluate markets for competitiveness, and ensure qualification of potential suppliers.
  • Develop and lead the commodity team members.
  • Maintain awareness of overall economic conditions'including commodity and currency trends, supplier/logistics risks, and global market fluctuations.
  • Perform make vs. buy analysis to determine optimum supply chain.
  • Lead supplier negotiations to achieve the lowest total cost by maximizing objectives for cost, quality, delivery, and service.
  • Coordinate with commodity teams in TSV-Augusta to leverage supply base.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to research, select and launch suppliers. Provide leadership for transition of parts and tooling to growth suppliers.
  • Provide leadership to VAVE team to identify and implement cost out projects.
  • Develop and improve processes to systematically track and report on supply chain scorecard metrics.
  • Provide direct leadership support for Materials and Quality teams to address supplier delivery and quality issues.
  • Support accounts payable to resolve open payables issues.
  • Minimum of Bachelor degree preferably in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering.
  • MBA a plus.
  • 5-10 years strategic sourcing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing sourcing strategies resulting in a world-class supply base that met or exceeded cost, quality, delivery and service goals.
  • Ability to successfully negotiate long-term agreements, non-disclosure agreements, etc. with a global supply base.
  • Demonstrated leadership with cross-functional teams through supplier identification, selection and launch process.
  • Demonstrated experience in supply base evaluation, commodity markets, and currency fluctuation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to manage global supply chain.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Project.  SAP experience is a plus.
  • Supply Chain certification through APICS or ISM is a plus.
